Bio

Cutting his teeth in the DIY punk and hardcore scene of the early 2000s, James Eager began his career on the road with bands like Kidd Blunt and Bacchus, where a passion for sound and a hands-on approach were forged through years of touring and self-sufficiency. During this time, he also co-ran The Hive, a studio that became a creative hub for underground and independent artists.

Transitioning from the stage to the sound desk, he took on front-of-house (FOH) duties for Enemies, mixing their dynamic live sets across European, American and Asian tours.

After this, he spent several years working as a backline technician, gaining valuable hands-on experience in live performance settings.

Returning home, he became the house engineer at Dublin’s The Grand Social, where he honed his skills across genres and formats. From there, he rejoined the touring circuit as FOH engineer for James Vincent McMorrow, bringing precision and musicality to international audiences.

His studio and live work has contributed to acclaimed recordings by Lankum, The Scratch, Kneecap, YARD, Enemies, and James Vincent McMorrow, earning him a reputation for thoughtful engineering, powerful mixes, and a deep respect for the craft.
